113 Cubic Inch ( 1853cc ) Sportster Powered "Unlimited" Bike Carl Morrow and Warner Riley 99 Cubic Inch ( 1853cc ) Sportster Powered " Top Gun" Bike Carl's Speed Shop Crew At Bonneville
After a five year absence from the Bonneville Salt Flats, Carl's Speed Shop set 6 World Land Speed Records on Twin Cam and Sportster powered Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Doug Morrow, piloting the Carl's Speed Shop 113 Cubic Inch ( 1853cc ) Sportster Powered "Unlimited"  bike set the fastest one way speed in the APS/PG 2000 class At 178.248mph, with a two-way average of 166.986mph.

Aboard the Carl's Speed Shop 99 Cubic Inch ( 1634cc ) Sportster powered " Top Gun " Bike, Doug Morrow also set the MPF-1650 record at 158.309mph, MPs/pG-1650 record at 158.948 and MPF 1650 record at 163.245 mph, Fastest one way speed 164.519." It Looks Like Top Gun's Back !! "

Good friend and noted long time Harley Racer Warner Riley, Aboard the Carl's Speed Shop 95 Cubic Inch ( 1550cc ) Twin Cam Street Bike, Set two World Records in MPs/PF-1650 class at 157.604mph and 156.738mph, respectively. The Street-Ridden 1999 Dyna FXD, Twin Cam bike is typical of the many Harleys Carl's Speed Shop modifies daily for it's Customers.

All Bonneville world records were set using only a naturally aspirated engine run on Gasoline
and NO power added booster such as nitrous oxide. Typical weather conditions during the speed runs were 100 deg F-plus temperatures and air densities Only 75% of that at Sea-Level, which is equivalent to Racing 6000 to 7000 feet above sea-level. Racing conditions included slight head winds along with a bumpy loose-salt track surface due to successive days of hard racing.
